Both as to the volume and the scope of application, wood is an essential local resource of bio-energy of national importance, besides, generating no emissions typical for the fossil fuels.
The wood fuel has a stable position in the energy balance on the national level with its share in the manufacturing of thermal energy increasing. This tendency is observed also world over: the proportion of wood and other bio-fuels in the thermal power balance has since the 1980s increased in all the industrially developed countries.
By using bio-energy instead of non-renewable fossil fuels, it is possible to contribute positively to creating the energy reserves and reducing emissions.
